Weitere Details:
The 3-hydroxykynurenine transaminase (3-HKT) gene plays a vital role in the development of malaria parasites by participating in the synthesis of xanthurenic acid, which is involved in the exflagellation of microgametocytes in the midgut of malaria vector species. The 3-HKT enzyme is involved in the tryptophan metabolism of Anophelines. The gene had been studied in the important global malaria vector, Anopheles gambiae. \ Recombinant protein corresponding to full-length Anopheles gambiae 3-HKT, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~44.3kD Applications: Used to test potential xanthurenic acid synthesis inhibitors, by performing in vitro transamination assays followed by HPLC-UV analysis (Lit. 1). Biological Activity: Specific activity towards D,L-3HK: 33umol/min/mg. Primarily catalyses the pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP)-dependent irreversible transamination of 3-hydroxykynurenine (3-HK) to xanthurenic acid (XA). Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
