AHCY deficiency is one of the causes of hypermethioninemia, a rare disease affecting brain development and muscle strength. Down-regulation of AHCY is also associated with certain forms of cancer, Huntington's disease and Wilson's disease. Molecular Weight: ~47kD Application: Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
