- The ZBTB family of proteins is comprised of diverse zinc finger proteins that also contain a BTB (BR-C, ttk and bab) domain. ZBTB8, also known as BOZ-F1, is present in multiple tissues, and is highly expressed in the cytoplasm of the placenta. While little is known about ZBTB8, other ZBTB proteins, such as ZBTB4 bind methylated DNA and repress transcription. Another ZBTB proteins, ZBTB7A, has been implicated as a proto-oncogene whose overexpression contributes to malignancy in breast cancer, suggesting that ZBTB8 may act as a transcriptional repressor or be involved in tumorigenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 2.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse Spleen Tissue Lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
