- CDH15 (Cadherin 15; also Mcadherin, Muscle cadherin and Cadherin14) is a 125127kD atypical member of the classical cadherin family, cadherin superfamily of molecules. It is expressed by muscle satellite cells, cells of the embryonic myotome, and hematopoietic bone marrow stem cells. CDH15 appears to bind homotypically in trans, thus allowing for the identification and subsequent fusion of myoblast precursors, particularly those in slowtwitch (or red fiber) muscles. This is accompanied by a downregulation of mitochondrial induced apoptosis. Mouse CDH15 is synthesized as a 784 amino acid (aa) preproprecursor. It contains a 21aa signal sequence, a 38aa propeptide, and a 725aa mature region. The mature region is expressed as a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that possesses a 546aa extracellular region (aa60605) and a 159aa cytoplasmic domain (aa626784). The extracellular region shows five consecutive cadherin domains. Over aa22605, mouse CDH15 shares 88% and 97% aa sequence identity with human and rat CDH15, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
