- Ubiquitin D, also called UBD or FAT10 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the UBD gene. This gene is mapped to 6p22.1. Ubiquitin-like protein modifier can be covalently attached to target protein and subsequently leads to their degradation by the 26S proteasome in a NUB1L-dependent manner. This gene may be involved in dendritic cell (DC) maturation, the process by which immature dendritic cells differentiate into fully competent antigen-presenting cells that initiate T-cell responses. It may be involved in the formation of aggresomes when proteasome is saturated or impaired. This gene mediates apoptosis in a caspase-dependent manner, especially in renal epithelium and tubular cells during renal diseases such as polycystic kidney disease and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-associated nephropathy (HIVAN). It probably functions as a survival factor.. UniProt Number: O15205 Gene ID: UBD Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
