- TFPI-2 (tissue factor pathway inhibitor-2; also placental protein 5/PP5) is a secreted, presumably 27-34kD glycoprotein member of the Kunitz domain-containing proteinase inhibitor family. In mouse, it is principally produced by endothelium, hepatocytes and synctiotrophoblasts, and serves as an inhibitor of multiple serine proteinases. Mature mouse TFPI-2 is 208aa in length. It contains three Kunitz inhibitor domains, the most N-terminal of which (aa36-86) is crucial to inhibitor activity. Over aa23-211, mouse TFPI-2 shares 86% and 58% aa sequence identity with rat and human TFPI-2, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
