- Nectins are immunoglobulin-like adhesion molecules that interact with afadin. Afadin is an actin filament-binding protein that connects nectins to the actin cytoskeleton. The nectin-afadin system organizes adherens junctions cooperatively with the cadherin-catenin system in epithelial cells. The nectin/PRR-family consists of four members, nectin-1, -2, -3 and -4. All the members of the nectin family have two or three slice variants. Nectin 3 is mainly expressed in testis and placental tissues and interacts in vivo with both long and short isoforms of afadin. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 6ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
