- IRAK1, an IRAK type protein kinase, is a signal transducer for the immune response Toll-like receptor and interleukin-1 (IL-1) receptor signaling cascades. IRAK1 is recruited to the IL-1 receptor, phosphorylated and progressively degraded in response to IL-1 induction. The protein also has the ability to autophosphorylate. IRAK1 is immediately downstream of the MyD88 adapter protein and immediately upstream of TRAF6. IRAK1 (-/-) mice have impaired responses to interleukin-18. At least two mRNA transcript variants have been identified - 2 and 3.6kb. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
