- CD80 is a 60kD single chain type I glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, also known as B7-1, B7, and BB1. CD80 is expressed on activated B and T cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. CD80 binds to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4). Along with CD86, CD80 plays a critical role in regulation of T cell activation. The interaction of CD80 with CD28 provides a potent co-stimulatory signal for T cell activation through the CD3 complex, while its interaction with CTLA-4 provides inhibitory signal for T cell activation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
