- Apolipoprotein C-III (Apo CIII) is one of 9 known polymorphic forms of apolipoproteins. The apolipoproteins functions as stabilizer of the intact lipoprotein particles. Specifically, Apo CIII is a very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) protein. Apo CIII is involved inhibition of lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase. It is thought to delay catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. A defect in Apo CIII has been linked to cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia (HLAP), which causes increase levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
