- Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) is an antioxidant enzyme that is down-regulated in cancer cells. Protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown. Its main role is the prevention of cancer initiation by ROS-mediated DNA damage. Sequence: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-201 from human GPX1 fused to a His-Tag at the C-terminus expressed in E. coli. Swiss/UniProt Accession: P07203 Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder is stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Working aliquots are stable for up to 3 months when stored at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
