- CHIA degrades chitin and chitotriose. May participate in the defense against nematodes and other pathogens. There are 3 named isoforms produced by alternative splicing. CHIA is induced via a T helper-2 (Th2)-specific, interleukin-13-mediated pathway in epithelial cells and macrophages. CHIA may be an important mediator of IL13-induced responses in Th2-dominated disorders such as asthma. CHIA hydrolysis N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminide 1,4-beta-linkages in chitin and chitodextrins. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Flow Cytometry (Not Tested) and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
