- Ago1 belongs to the argonaute family and contains 1 PAZ and 1 Piwi domain. It is required for G1 arrest and mating in response to nitrogen starvation. It is also known as a cell cycle control protein through its regulation of cytokinesis and its related cell cycle checkpoints, which occur downstream of dcr1. It is required, indirectly, for regulated hyperphosphorylation of cdc2. Ago 1 also has a role in the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, which is important for heterochromatin formation and accurate chromosome segregation. It has been shown to be non-essential for siRNA-directed target RNA cleavage, but is needed for the production of mature miRNA that affects miRNA-directed RNA cleavage. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: HeLa cell lysate Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
