CD95 was expressed in thymus, spleen, liver, heart, lung, ovary and other organs. CD95 binds ligand (FasL) to form a death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) in cells to induce apoptosis. Cd95-induced apoptosis plays an important role in development and in maintaining peripheral tolerance of the immune system.
