- Serotonin plays important physiological functions at the intestinal level. Human intestinal epithelial Caco-2 cellls functionally express SERT both at their apical and basolateral cell membranes. It is a 630aa residue in human (chromosome 17q11), rat and mouse. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Western Blot, though not tested, may potentially be used as an application. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000. ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
