- Axonal degeneration contributes to the pathogenesis of several neurodegenerative states following mechanical or neurotoxic injury. Several studies have now demonstrated that overexpression of Nmnat1 (nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase), a ubiquitously expressed nuclear enzyme that catalyzes an essential step in the NAD (NADP) biosynthetic pathway, has the ability to protect axons from degeneration following traumatic injury. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
