- IL-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, nerve cells differentiation in hepatocytes, and acute phase reactants. Applications: Suitable for use in Neutralization, Immunohistochemistry, FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: incubated overnight at 4˚C stains colchicine injected mouse brain (cingulate cortex) tissue Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
