- bFGF (FGF-2) is a member of a family of seven peptides that are potent regulators of cell proliferation, differentiation and function. bFGF stimulates the proliferation of cells of mesodermal origin and many cells of endodermal, ectodermal and neuroectodermal origin. bFGF also induces neuron differentiation, survival and regeneration and stimulates astrocyte migration. bFGF may also be involved in the production of a variety of pathological conditions arising from excessive cell proliferation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Neutralization. Other applications not tesed. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA (Sandwich): 0.5-2ug/ml. 100ul/well allows detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Detection limit is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 0.25-0.5ug/ml for 2 hours at RT. Heat induced antigen retrieval is recoomended using sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 Neutralization: 0.25-0.4ug/ml to yield one-half inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of human FGF-basic (0.3ng/ml). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
