- The complement system helps or “complements” the ability of antibodies and phagocytic cells to clear pathogens from an organism. Complement is part of the innate immune system that is not adaptable and does not change over the course of an individual's lifetime. Complement can be recruited and brought into action by the adaptive immune system. pH: Normal Immunoelectrophoresis: Normal Hemoglobin: Normal Strain: Mixed Breed Sex: Mixed Storage and Stability: Temperature sensitive. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for 6 months.
