- Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is ubiquitously expressed in both cycling and noncycling cells but its activity is detected almost exclusively in brain extracts. Cdk5 is activated by p35 protein which is only expressed in the brain. Cdk5 activity is involved in terminal differentiation of neurons and muscle cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:25 Western Blot: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
