- CD71(Human Transferrin Receptor) is a 95kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is the receptor for transferrin. CD71 expression is very low on resting leukocytes but is upregulated upon activation. CD71 plays a critical role in cell proliferation by controlling the supply of iron, which is essential for many metabolic pathways, through the binding and endocytosis of transferrin.(1-4) Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 20ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
