- c-Myc is a transcription factor with apparent molecular weight of 62-67 kD which plays an important role in the control of cell growth, cell cycle progression, neoplasia, and apoptotic cell death. It contains a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper domain required for dimerization and binds DNA as an heterodimer with MAX protein. c-Myc is overexpressed in different tumors such as colorectal, gastric, gallbladder, hepatic, mammary, pulmonary, prostatic, endocrine, as well as hematopoietic neoplasms. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
