- p53 becomes activated in response to a myriad of stress types, which include but are not limited to DNA damage (induced by either UV, IR, or chemical agents such as hydrogen peroxide), oxidative stress, osmotic shock, ribonucleotide depletion, and deregulated oncogene expression. Excellent marker for wild-type and mutant forms of human p53 antigen. The antibody stains positively approx. 60% of investigated carcinoma of lung, breast, colon, stomach, esophagus, pancreas, urinary bladder and testis, head and neck tumors; T-cell Leukemia, non-Hodgkin-Lymphoma, melanoma, sarcoma. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (frozen/paraffin): 1:1000-1:3000 (17-50ng/ml). Microwave treatment recommended for paraffin sections Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000 (5-25ng/ml) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
