- Nucleoporin NUP53 is a member of the nucleoporin family. The protein is localized to the nuclear rim and is part of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). All molecules entering or leaving the nucleus either diffuse through or are actively transported by the NPC.MP44 has a calculated molecular mass of about 35kD. It has a small number of scattered phenylalanine-glycine repeats, but not the large domains seen in other nucleoporins. The central 150aa of MP44 share 21% identity with S. cerevisiae Nup53. Fluorescence-tagged MP44, transfected into HeLa cells, showed punctate nuclear rim localization typical of nucleoporins. Based on this localization and the homology of MP44 to other nucleoporins, Cronshaw et al. (2002) proposed that MP44 be renamed NUP35. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
