- LOXL2 is a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family. This family of extracellular, copper dependent enzymes participates in the post-translational modification essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue by deaminating the side chains of lysine residues in collagen and elastin. This results in the covalent cross-linking of fibrillar collagen and the formation of desmosine and isodesmosine cross-links in elastin. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500-1:3000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5ug/ml. Antigen retrieval using heat mediated 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 or Tris-EDTA buffer, pH 8.0 is recommended Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
