- Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4), also known as WFDC2, is an important biomarker for epithelial ovarian carcinomas. It is expressed in a number of normal tissues including male reproductive system, regions of the respiratory tract, and the nasopharynx. It is highly expressed in a number of tumor cell lines such as ovarian, colon, breast, lung, and renal cell lines. HE4 is initially described as being exclusively transcribed in the epididymis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
