- Histatins are salivary proteins that are considered to be major precursors of the protective proteinaceous structure on tooth surfaces (enamel pellicle). In addition, histatins exhibit antibacterial and antifungal activities. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:100-1:200 Western Blot: 1:100-1:400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Amino Acid Sequence of Immunogen: Histatin1 fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and S-tag: MHHHHHHSSG LVPRGSGMKE TAAAKFERQH MDSPDLGTDD DDKAMADIGS EF- D SHEKRHHGYR RKFHEKHHSH REFPFYGDYG SNYLYDN Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
