- Native human C7 is a naturally glycosylated protein composed of a single polypeptide chain of 92.4kD. C7 is essential for formation of the membrane attack complex (MAC) and is activated non-proteolytically by binding to recently-formed C5b, C6 complexes at the cell membrane. Each pathway of complement activation generates proteolytic enzyme complexes (C3/C5 convertases) which are bound to the target surface. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:16,000-1:32,000 Western Blot: 1:8000-1:16,000 Immunodiffusion: 1:16 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
