- 5-S-Cysteinyldopamine is a sulfur ether metabolite of dopamine that can induce neurodegeneration by inducing widespread oxidative stress and protein aggregation, characterized by protein carbonylation and glutathione depletion, and upregulating the expression of α-Syn and ERp57 proteins. 5-S-Cysteinyldopamine can be used in the study of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease[1][2].
