- Pepstatin A is a selective inhibitor of aspartyl proteases. It inhibits human pepsin, human gastricsin, renin, cathepsin D and E and bovine chymosin. Pepstatin A does not inhibit thiol proteases, neutral proteases or serine proteases. It suppresses RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation.
