- ALK is a 80 kDa receptor protein kinsase having a putative transmembrane domain and an extracellular domain. This protein is anaplastic lymphoma kinase is highly expressed in the neonatal brain. It is also expressed in the samll intestine; testis; and brain but not in normal lymphoid cell.
