- Source : E. coli;Annexin A1 is a member of the annexin family that can bind to cellular membranes in a calcium-dependent manner; promoting membrane fusion and endocytosis. Annexin A1 is found in the cytoplasm; on the cell surface; and in the extracellular fluid. Annexin A1 has anti-inflammatory activities and inhibits phospholipase A2 function. Annexin A1 is also involved in membrane aggregation; inflammation; phagocytosis; proliferation; apoptosis; and tumorigenesis and cancer development. It can exert both positive and negative effects on epithelial mesenchymal transition and tumor metastasis.
