- Source : Human 293 Cells;E-Selectin is a kDa cell surface glycoprotein that belongs to the selectin family. It is transiently expressed on vascular endothelial cells in response to IL-1 beta and TNF-alpha; E-selectin plays an important role in recruiting leukocytes to the site of injury during inflammation. E-selectin also mediates the adhesion of tumor cells to endothelial cells; through binding to E-selectin ligands expressed by neutrophils; monocytes; eosinophils; memory-effector T-like lymphocytes; natural killer cells or cancer cells. In addition; studies have found that levels of E-Selectin may be elevated in subjects with various pathological conditions.
