- Source: E. coli. MW :23.9kD. Recombinant Human STAT6 is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Ser627-Ser837 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 6 (STAT6) is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. At least seven STATs exist: STAT1; 2; 3; 4; 5a; 5b; and 6. They are responsible for an array of cellular activities including regulating growth; survival; differentiation; motility; and the immune response. STAT6 plays a central role in exerting IL4 mediated biological responses. It is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L); which is responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of IL4. Knockout studies in mice suggested the roles of this gene in differentiation of T helper 2 (Th2) cells; expression of cell surface markers; and class switch of immunoglobulins. STAT6 has been shown to interact with EP300; CREB-binding protein; NFKB1; Nuclear receptor coactivator 1; IRF4 and SND1.
