- Source: Escherichia Coli.Sterile Filtered colorless solution.Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including a1-microglobulin and b-lactoglobulin); which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal; biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke.LCN2 Rat Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 201 amino acids (21-198 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 22.9kDa. LCN2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
