TGFA soluble form is discharged from the membrane by proteolytic cleavage. Membrane-bound proTGF-alpha is biologically active and has a role in cell-cell adhesion or in the stimulation of adjacent cells. TGFA expression is common in transformed cells. Additionally; TGFA is expressed in normal tissues during embryogenesis and in adult cells/tissues; including the pituitary; keratinocytes; and macrophages.TGFA Human Recombinant (40-89) produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated; polypeptide chain containing 50 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 5.6kDa. The TGFA is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
