- Source : E.coli. MUP1 Mouse Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 185 amino acids (19-180) and having a molecular mass of 21.1kDa. MUP1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. MUP1 is a subfamily of proteins appears highly in the urine and other secretions of various animals. MUP1 provides a minor range of identifying information regarding the donor animal; once detected by the vomeronasal organ of the receiving animal. MUP1 can as well act as protein pheromones themselves. MUP1has been shown to encourage aggression in male mice; and 1 specific Mup protein found in male mouse urine is sexually attractive to female mice.
