- Source : Escherichia Coli. BRMS1 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 261 amino acids (1-246) and having a molecular mass of 29.9 kDa. BRMS1 is fused to a 15 amino acid T7-tag at N-terminus. BRMS1 protein; a member of the mSin3a family of HDAC (histone deacetylase complexes); is mainly restricted to the nucleus. BRMS1 holds two coiled-coil motifs and a few imperfect leucine zipper motifs. BRMS1 reduces the metastatic potential; but not the tumorogenicity; of melanoma cell lines and human breast cancer. Alternative splicing creates two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
