ARF6 produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 195 amino acids (1-175a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 22.2kDa.ARF6 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. ARF6 is a part of the ADP ribosylation factor family of GTP-binding proteins. ARF6 is restricted to the plasma membrane; and controls vesicular trafficking; remodeling of membrane lipids; and signaling pathways which lead to actin remodeling. Furthermore; ARF6 is a key player in conservation of organelle integrity; assembly of coat proteins and activation of phospholipase D.
