- Source : Native. PRTN3 is a natural antigen having a molecular mass of 25kDa to 32kDa due to glycosylation isoforms. PRTN3 is isolated from human peripheral blood leukocytes. PRTN3 is a polymorphonuclear leukocyte serine protease which degrades elastin; fibronectin; laminin; vitronectin; and collagen types I; III; and IV (in vitro) and causes emphysema once managed by tracheal insufflation to hamsters.
