Ecotin produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 163 amino acids (21-162a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 18.3kDa.Ecotin is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Ecotin inhibits pancreatic serine proteases. Ecotin protein inhibits chymotrypsin; trypsin; elastases; factor X; kallikrein as well as a variety of other proteases. The power of inhibition is not linked to a specific protease specificity.
