- Source: Sf9; Baculovirus cells.Sterile filtered colorless solution.Cytochrome b5 isoform 1 or CYB5A; is part of the cytochrome b5 family which is bound to the cell membrane. CYB5A has a key role in the stearyl-CoA-desaturase activity as it reduces ferric hemoglobin to ferrous hemoglobin. Cytochrome b5 isoform 1 performs as an electron carrier for numerous oxygenases that are imbedded in the cell membrane. CYB5A produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single; glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 117 amino acids (1-108a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 13.3kDa. (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 18-28kDa).CYB5A is expressed with a 9 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
