- Source : Escherichia Coli. Beta Defensin-3 Mouse Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 41 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 4.6kDa. The BD-3 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin; beta 103A; which has broad spectrum antimicrobial activity and may play an important role in innate epithelial defense.
