Specificity: The recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody rHIQB002 recognizes an extracellular epitope of human chemokine receptor CD194 (CCR4). Background: CD194 is a G-protein-coupled seven membrane-spanning transmembrane protein serving as a high affinity receptor for C-C type chemokines TARC (CCL17) and MDC (CCL22); and as a coreceptor for HIV. It is expressed by all CLA+ T cells regardless of their Th1 or Th2 phenotype; on activated Th2; Treg; and activated NK cells; basophils and macrophages. Blocking CD194 function can be used for treatment of inflammation.
