- Specificity: Anti-Usutu Virus (Clone USUV-9710) is specific for Usutu Virus non-structural protein 1 (NS1). There is no cross-reactivity with other Flavivirus. Background: Usutu virus (USUV) is a member of the Flaviviridae family; closely related to the Japanese encephalitis virus and West Nile virus. Originally isolated in South Africa in 1959; USUV primarily circulates between birds and mosquitoes. The virus occasionally infects humans; causing mild flu-like symptoms. In recent years; USUV has expanded its geographical range within Europe; causing sporadic outbreaks and raising concerns about its potential impact on avian and human populations.
