It is negative for reactivity to Ebola Virus and non-reactive with mammalian cells (IFA). Background: Marburg virus is a rare but highly infectious and deadly RNA virus that belongs to the Filoviridae family; the same family as Ebola virus. Marburg virus causes a severe and often fatal hemorrhagic fever in humans and non-human primates; known as Marburg virus disease (MVD).
